Born in Washington D.C., November 11th 1958, Scott soon moved with his family to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, at the age of nine. His formative years were spent playing football, baseball, and acting in The Childrens Theatre. After high school, Scott went on to the North Carolina School of performing arts, where he double majored in jazz and modern dance. When the famed Broadway choreographer, Michael Bennett came through town with A Chorus Line and saw Scott dance, he offered him a part in the touring company.
Scott soon headed out to New York City, joining the original Broadway cast of Dream Girls, later becoming a member of the Actors Studio. In 1986 Scott moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in film, his first feature film The In Crowd already under his belt. Catching the eye of Sean Penn, Scott won the part of Mickey in the Westwood Playhouse production of Hurlyburly, written and directed by David Rabe. Scott later starred in a one-act play written and directed by Sean Penn, entitled The Kindness of Women.
Scott went on to work with such notables as Michael Mann, Oliver Reed, Rod Steiger, George Clooney, Renny Harlin, Angelina Jolie, Jon Voight, Sigourney Weaver and Patricia Arquette. Scott was cast in the CBS drama Sons & Daughters the syndicated show Air America, and had recurring roles on Melrose Place, and The Division. Scotts last performance was in the Disney movie Holes where he played the villain Trout Walker.
