'The Last Days of Jonathan Perlo'
Perlo Gets Accepted
Salt Lake City, UT and Los Angeles, CAThe Sundance Institute today announced the line-up of films for the Short Documentary Program in the 2005 Sundance Film Festival, taking place January 2030, 2005, in Park City, Utah. 'The Last Days of Jonathan Perlo' is one of nine Short Documentaries that has been accepted this year. The Festival is the premier showcase for American independent film, is an important new platform for international independent film, and screens films that embody risk-taking, diversity, and aesthetic innovation.
This year the documentaries are not only compelling in their storytelling and subject matter, but in many cases the filmmakers have created more poetic and cinematic films than one would expect from traditional documentaries. Its heartening to see that as the interest in documentary films grows, the storytelling and artistry of the films is also really evolving, comments John Cooper, Sundance Film Festival Director of Programming. *1

CNN Review
"A deeply poignant look at the human condition this profoundly moving documentary examines one man at the end of his life, another in middle of his, and how their own personal demons drove them to tragedy while pursuing the Hollywood dream. "The Last Days of Jonathan Perlo" is a compelling film that will linger in your mind long after you leave the theater."
